Why Enterprise Content Management

Documents, e-mails, drawings, web pages, forms and other content are crucial sources of information that are required to keep organizations functioning well.


Today, we are used to the benefits of digital content: collaboration and communication is easy and businesses are now seeking to find competitive advantage by exploiting the value within this content.


This white paper puts forward Atos Origin’s vision on why and how organizations should put focus on the management of their content in the field commonly referred to as Enterprise Content Management (ECM): the technologies, tools, and methods used to capture, manage, store, preserve, and deliver content across
the enterprise.


We stress that ECM is about people, information used in business
processes and IT tooling. It is our view that in the coming years we will see enterprise wide ECM programs, the next suite wave after ERP.
